Sophisticated Without Being Stuffy

Wine websites have a tendency to feel either too corporate or too "live, laugh, love." Mission Bell wanted something different—elevated but approachable, the kind of site that makes you want to book a tasting even if you can't tell a Cabernet from a Merlot.

I handled the front-end development in Nuxt with Sanity as the CMS, focusing on smooth page transitions and letting the vineyard photography do the talking. My job was really to build a frame that showcased stunning imagery without competing for attention.

What I Built:

  • Nuxt application with page transitions using GSAP that feel seamless without being flashy
  • Sanity CMS setup giving the team full control over content and wine catalog
  • Accessibility-first approach—WCAG 2.1 AA compliant throughout
  • Vue component library that the team can mix and match for landing pages

The client's exact words after launch: "It finally feels like us." That's the goal, really. The tech should be invisible—people should just feel like they're already there, glass in hand.
